Road to the Valley Cup
UFV's "Just the Tip" entered the Fall 2023 playoffs with a perfect record (6-0), having not dropped a single set. In the semi-finals they met "Setting Ducks", which proved to be yet another comfortable win in straight sets. Their toughest test of the semester came in the final, where they matched up against the undefeated "VOLL-E". After dropping the first set to their opponents, "Just the Tip" settled in the game and came out with a win in 4 sets, clinching their spot in the Valley Cup.
UFV's top intramural volleyball teams have been unable to defeat TWU's best in past years. However, with a star-studded lineup, Just the Tip will be looking to change the narrative.
Players to watch:
Dustin Berends (OH)
Leading the team in kills, it's clear to see that the 4th year is vital in the team's offensive strategy. Dustin's height and athleticism will also be called into action on defense where they'll look to slow down TWU's power hitters.
John Le (S)
The veteran setter has provided consistency and precision all semester long. With elite setting ability and a dangerous float serve, he will be looking to provide his team with a bounty of scoring opportunities.
