Cascades get set to host Head of the Fort Regatta

The University of the Fraser Valley rowing club is set to host its 13th annual home regatta, Head of the Fort, on Saturday, April 1.

The event will be held on the Bedford Channel at Fort Langley, and brings together local rowing clubs to compete in the event.
Coach Lisa Roman noted that the event is a highlight for the Cascades – as the home event signifies the start of their year.

"It's usually the first race that kicks off the season. We do a few races in the lead up to the fall, and this is really the first one to get the season started. Any of our novices that joined us in the fall haven't raced yet, so it will be the first regatta for all of them."

This year's Head of the Fort will feature launches at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. with the final race to be held at 1 p.m. The bridge over the Bedford Channel serves as a terrific viewing area for spectators.

You can help support the Cascades rowing club through their silent auction that closes on Friday, March 31 at 6 p.m.
