Esther Allison led five Cascades players in double figures with 15 points and UFV opened the tournament with a convincing win over the Bisons.Â
Allison added a game-high 10 rebounds.
Bernie Leda and
Julia Tuchscherer both had 12 points and
Miah Schuurman and
Maddy Gobeil chipped in 10 apiece.Â
The Bisons were led by Emerson Martin's 14 points, while Anna Miko added nine and Emily Mandamin eight.Â
Manitoba made just three of 12 from the free throw line and six of 29 from three, shooting 30.3 per cent from the field.Â
The Cascades shot 43.5 per cent from the floor and made nine of 27 from three.Â
Semifinal: Fraser Valley 61, Regina 64
Julia Tuchscherer scored a game-high 20 points, and
Esther Allison added 16, as Regina got the edge in the final 2:46 to come away with the win.Â
Izzy Fust had 18 points for Regina, while Jade Bellmore had 17.
The Cascades shot 35.4% form the field, and 35.3% from deep compared to 31.9% and 16% for the Cougars. However, the Cougars got the edge on free throws in the game, going 14 for 20 compared to nine of 14 for UFV.
Third-Place Game: Fraser Valley 75, Winnipeg 60
Maddy Gobeil led all scorers with 26 points and
Julia Tuchscherer had eight points, 12 rebounds and eight assists.
Esther Allison scored 14 and Mia Schuurman 13.Â
Raia Guinto had 13 points and five rebounds to lead the Wesmen, who got 12 points from Jennifer Kallon.
The Cascades outscored their opponents 48-18 in the paint, shooting 32 of 66 from the field compared to just 18 of 59 from the hosts.Â
