Victoria, BC – Â
Julia Tuchscherer scored a game-high 25 points to lead the UFV Cascades to a second win over the Victoria Vikes in as many nights. UFV shot nearly fifty percent from the field in the game as they came away with the 68-60 win on the road.
The result sees both team's records move to 6-7 on the season, as the Cascades sweep the season series 3-0 over Victoria.Â
How it happened:
With the game tied at 12, a pair of
Julia Tuchscherer jumpers were followed up by an
Esther Allison three pointer to give UFV a seven-point lead early in the second. Victoria would battle back however, and an Avery Geddes bucket would flip the lead and help the Vikes take a one-point lead into the break.Â
The teams traded shots through most of the third, but a 9-2 run from UFV would close out the frame and give the Cascades a five-point advantage with 10 minutes to go. Tuchscherer hit a triple with five minutes to go to extend the UFV lead to 10, and some solid free throw shooting down the stretch would seal the victory.
Notable:
Tuchscherer notched 25 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, and two blocks in a huge performance for UFV, while
Miah Schuurman added 11 points and four steals, and
Bernie Leda chipped in eight points and six assists.
Makena Anderson led the way for Victoria with 19 points, while Iva Kalabric and Eden Henderson each had 15.
