Mission

The UFV Cascades Hall of Fame exists to honour athletes, teams and builders who significantly contributed to the Cascades sports program, and who brought special honour and recognition to the university.

Selection process

• Categories for induction: Athlete, team, builder
• Waiting period: Must be five years removed from competition at UFV
• Criteria: Inductees must have performed in a manner that brought special honour and recognition to UFV Athletics. Athletes must have participated for more than one season, while builders must have been involved for at least five years. Emphasis will be placed on the nominee’s achievements during their career with the Cascades, rather than what they accomplished in sport afterward.

Selection committee

• The Hall of Fame selection committee is responsible for evaluating and determining the inductees.
• Steve Tuckwood, UFV’s Director of Athletics and Campus Recreation, will convene the committee and serve as a non-voting chair. The committee may be comprised of (but not limited to) UFV alumni board members, Cascades alumni athletes, and Fraser Valley community stakeholders.

Nomination timeline

• An annual nomination deadline will be established. The selection committee will meet in the fall to determine that year’s inductees, and an induction ceremony will be held in the spring.

Inductee information

• Media requirements for Cascades Hall of Fame induction include a photo (either submitted or taken by Cascades staff) and participation in a tribute video to be embedded at GoCascades.ca.
