Janelle Rozema

Janelle Rozema returned to the Fraser Valley in 2019 to take the helm of the Cascades women’s volleyball program, guiding the team through its final PACWEST season and building towards its Canada West conference debut in 2020.

Rozema joined UFV after serving seven years as assistant coach with the University of Alberta women’s volleyball, where she helped lead the Pandas to six U SPORTS national medals and the 2017 Canada West championship. In addition to serving as the Pandas’ varsity assistant coach, she also managed the Pandas Volleyball Club and was head coach of its 18U team.

The Sherwood Park, Alta. product also coached with Volleyball Canada's youth and junior national teams (2015-2017), and with Volleyball Alberta’s provincial program (2012-2018). She was named the Mikasa Performance Coach of the Year (female division) with Volleyball Alberta in 2019.

Rozema is no stranger to the B.C.’s post-secondary volleyball community. She served as head coach at Columbia Bible College (2007-2011), guiding the Bearcats women to a PACWEST bronze medal in 2008. Rozema was an assistant coach at Trinity Western University in 2011-12, helping the women’s volleyball program secure a Canada West bronze medal and a fifth-place finish at nationals.
