The University of the Fraser Valley baseball club dropped two of three games vs. the Thompson Rivers WolfPack over the Easter long weekend.
The WolfPack, who came in with the best record in the Canadian Collegiate Baseball League, hosted the Cascades in a Sunday doubleheader and rallied for a 10-8 win in the opener. UFV bounced back with an 8-5 victory in the second game of the day.
Monday's scheduled doubleheader at DeLair Park was abbreviated due to rain – the WolfPack picked up a win in the opener (8-0 in seven innings), and the second game of the day was rained out.

The Cascades' bats were red-hot, as they built an 8-5 lead heading to the bottom of the ninth. UFV's 13-hit attack featured two hits apiece from
Josh Berenbaum,

Dylan Merritt,
Liam Campbell and
Jonah Weisner, and Weisner hit his first home run of the campaign in the sixth inning.
Dylan Emmons went seven innings on the mound, allowing just two runs with five strikeouts.
The WolfPack, though, scored five in the bottom of the ninth – Tyron James hits a two-run single to tie the score, and Connor McKenzie hit a walk-off home run to end it.

The UFV squad scored four runs in the fourth inning, and four more in the seventh to account for all of their offence.
Riley Jepson blasted his fifth home run of the season – second-most in the league – and Merritt (three hits), Horner (two hits) and Weisner (two RBI) also chipped in offensively. Cascades starting pitcher
Brad Bishop surrendered four runs in the first inning, but kept the WolfPack off the board over the rest of his six-inning stint, finishing with five strikeouts.

The WolfPack did most of their damage in the fifth through seventh innings, scoring seven of their eight runs against the Cascades' bullpen. TRU pitchers Tyler Hodder and Tyler Moskalyk combined to scatter six hits while surrendering just one walk, and Weisner (2-for-3) was the lone UFV hitter to muster a multi-hit outing.
