GAME 1: Cascades 8, TRU WolfPack 0
In the opening game of the CCBC Fall Championship, Dylan Emmons did exactly what he's done, more often than not, for the Cascades baseball club.
He dominated.
The veteran righthander surrendered just two hits over six innings of work, alongside an eye-popping 13 strikeouts, as the UFV squad blew out Thompson Rivers.
Josh Berenbaum closed things out on the mound, striking out two of the three batters he faced in the seventh inning.
The Cascades were also the better team at the plate and in the field – they out-hit TRU 12-2, and went error-free in the field vs. four WolfPack miscues.
Stephen Horner hit a solo home run,
Connor Coverett and
Liam Campbell had three hits apiece,
Jack Ray had two hits and an RBI, and
Ryan West scored two runs.Â
Up next, the Cascades face the Victoria Golden Tide (Saturday, 9 a.m.).Â

GAME 2: Cascades 4, Victoria Golden Tide 1
In a game where offence was at a premium, the Cascades took advantage of some timely hits and several Victoria errors to improve to 2-0 at the CCBC championship.
The Golden Tide registered four errors to the Cascades' one, and in the end, three of the UFV club's four runs were unearned.
Dylan Merritt had two of the Cascades' four hits on the day, and
Ryan West and
Josh Berenbaum scored two runs apiece.Â
On the mound, UFV continued to deal – starter
Carter Harbut went two innings,Â
Sasha Kamenjasevic came on for five innings of relief and picked up the win, and
Evan Petersen closed things out with two scoreless innings.Â
With the win, the Cascades have all but ensured themselves of advancing to Sunday evening's semifinals. They wrap up round-robin play on Sunday vs. the Calgary Dinos (12:15 p.m.).
Â
GAME 3: Cascades 7, Calgary Dinos 2
The Cascades wrapped up an undefeated run in the round robin by cruising past the Calgary Dinos on Sunday afternoon.
Starter
Blake Badger went four innings, racking up seven strikeouts, and
Ty Hall paced the offence with two hits and two RBI. A full box score was not available online post-game.
With the victory, the Cascades locked up first place in their pool, and advance to the semifinals vs. Prairie Baseball Academy at 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening.
