Jonas Van Huizen's 19 kills led the Cascades to a 3-0 victory (25-21, 25-19, 25-13) over the MacEwan University Griffins on Friday night at the UFV Athletic Centre. The win moves the Cascades to 2-3 so far on the season, while MacEwan drops to 0-5.

The Griffins and Cascades battled back-and-forth in the opening set, but with the score level at 21, a kill from
Nimo Benne and two from Van Huizen helped them end the set 25-21.
UFV Raced out to leads of 7-3 and 14-9 early in the second. Kills by Jonah Karsten and Mitchel Gorman helped MacEwan narrow the gap to 18-16, but that was as close as they would get. A pair of Van Huizen kills down the stretch aided in closing it out 25-19 for UFV.
The Cascades took full control in the third set and did not falter, ending the match with a 25-13 set win.

Jonas Van Huizen led all players in the match with 19 kills, while teammates Nimo Benne and Caleb Kastelein each had nine. Benne also added 10 digs in the effort, and Silas Van Huizen notched 33 assists.
Mitchel Gorman paced the Griffins with nine kills, while Daylan Andison had six, and Jonah Karsten had five.
