Abbotsford, BC – After a stellar season for the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades,
Maddy Gobeil was named a Canada West 1
st Team All-Star on Friday.
Jumping up from the third team last season, the guard ranked seventh in Canada West with 18 points per game. The third-year player was also second in the conference in three-point percentage with .435, and third in steals with 2.8, while adding 5.6 rebounds and three assists per game.
Gobeil highlighted an exceptional season with a 38-point performance against the Winnipeg Wesmen on Jan. 27 to set a new single-game program record.
The Cascades entered the Canada West playoffs as the fifth seed, knocking off the UNBC Timberwolves in the play-in game before eventually falling in the quarterfinal to the University of Alberta Pandas on Feb. 18.
