Abbotsford, BC –
Maddy Gobeil scored 26 points to lead all players, and the UFV Cascades outscored the Brandon University Bobcats 26-0 in the second quarter on their way to an 85-36 victory on Friday evening at the UFV Athletic Centre.
With the win, the Cascades improve to 12-3 on the season, while the Bobcats fall to 1-16.
How it Happened
Brandon started the game hot, hitting three triples, and a jumper to take an 11-8 lead, but UFV battled back and a bucket from Gobeil tied the score at 14 with 1:47 left on the clock in the opening frame. From there the Cascades took over with a 30-0 run that lasted the remainder of the first quarter and all of the second quarter.Â
Jayna Maytwayashing hit a jumper at the start of the third quarter to finally bring the run to an end, but the damage was done and the Cascades cruised to the 49 point victory.Â

Madison Storme had a strong presence in her first Canada West minutes for the Cascades collecting eight rebounds and a block in the victory.Â
Faith Clearsky led the Bobcats with 14 points and three assists in the game, while Cali Yates chipped in 11 points.

"It means everything. My family and my high-school coaches - everyone was so excited for me. I was a little nervous, but everyone on our team was so supportive and as soon as I stepped on the court all those nerves went away and I could focus. It was awesome."Â
