WBB: Gobeil fills the basket in her hometown, as Cascades rout the WolfPack on Friday

Kamloops, B.C. – Maddy Gobeil scored a game-high 21 points in just 22 minutes of action, as the UFV Cascades took down the TRU WolfPack 87-44 on Friday.

The Cascades are now 4-1 on the season while TRU drops to 0-5.

How it Happened:
UFV was in charge of the game from start to finish on Friday.

The Cascades came out of the gates hot with a 10-0 run to start the game, and went on to  shoot over 50 per cent from the floor as a team in the first half to hold a 55-17 lead through 20 minutes of play.

The Cascades continued to pull away in the third, outscoring the hosts 13-9 in the frame. 
TRU's best basketball of the game came in the fourth quarter, as theWolfPack shot 58 per cent from the floor as a team over the final ten minutes to score 18 points, but 19 points from the Cascades, including eight from Julia Tuchscherer closed out the contest.

Notable:
Kamloops local Maddy Gobeil had a game-high 21 points to lead UFV. Julia Tuchscherer added 19 points and seven rebounds while Nikki Cabuco knocked down a trio of three-pointers for 12 points.

Kate De La Mare led the way for TRU with ten points in the game while also grabbing five rebounds. Danijela Kovacevic was effective distributing the ball to finish the night with seven assists.

"We had TRU on their heels in the first half, and showed our experience. Credit to them, as they came out tough in the second half. They played and competed hard. Tomorrow we will need to be ready for 40 minutes of that version of them."
