Box Score Kelowna BC – The Cascades were unable to gain momentum as the Heat take the game in three sets Saturday afternoon in Kelowna.
The Cascades are now 2-8 while the Heat are 6-2.
How It Happened:
The teams battled back and forth throughout the first set. The Heat gained some separation late in the first set from a couple UFV errors and a kill from Lucas Woelders which brought the score to 20-17. The Cascades were unable to catch the Heat before Jack Taylor got the final kill to take the set 25-21.
In the second set, the Cascades battled for each point staying close behind the Heat. Late in the set, the Heat were able to take advantage of a few attack errors from UFV which brought the score to 22-15. A service error from UFV gave the Heat their final point needed to win the second set 25-19.
In the final set, the Cascades struggled to find their rhythm. Midway, Zach Van Geel had three service aces that allowed the Heat to maintain a significant lead of 17-9. The Heat finished off the third set 25-17. Â
Notable:
Roan McCarthy led the Cascades with eight kills.
Jack Taylor led the game with nine kills while Zach Van Geel had 25 assists and three service aces for the Heat.
