The University of Fraser Valley athletic department recognized 38 student athletes who achieved an exceptional academic record in the classroom for 2023-24 on Thursday.
"I am always impressed with student-athletes who juggle athletics and academics and excel in both," said Steve Tuckwood, Director of Athletics and Campus Recreation. "Shining the spotlight on these achievements is a way to recognize some of the great work being done here at UFV."
It was also announced that women's volleyball was awarded the President's Shield for the best team GPA of 3.56
The Cascades had 20 athletes that were named U SPORTS Academic All-Canadians among that group. This honours those who reached a 3.67 on the UFV GPA scale or better while playing on a varsity team. Recipients were as follows:

Furthermore, Cascades Academic Awards were presented to 18 student athletes who had a 3.5 GPA or better but did not fall under the criteria for U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian. This also includes athletes who were redshirting or were on teams that are not within U SPORTS. The athletes are as follows:
