The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades baseball club enters the 2024 postseason with the second seed, and the team's best record since the 2019. The Cascades (18-12) will take on the Calgary Dinos (13-17) as they kick off their championship campaign on Thursday at 5:30pm PT in Lethbridge, AB.
The Cascades have plenty of reasons to be confident as they search for the program's second Canadian College World Series title.Â
First-Year head Coach
Riley Jepson's Cascades boast one of the strongest pitching staffs from the 2024 CCBC season, led by
Mason Chien with a league-leading five wins on eight starts, and
Josh Berenbaum who captured a league-best 0.28 ERA with 40 strikeouts in 32 innings pitched.
Offensively, UFV will look to get contributions from
Tyson Christie and
Max Prevost who led the team with batting averages of .329 and .311 respectively, while
Brady Renneberg will look to put runs on the board and add to his team-best 20 RBI's this year.
