WSOC: Cascades fall to Spartans on Friday

Langley, BC – The UFV Cascades dropped a 3-0 decision to the TWU Spartans on Friday evening in Langley, as both teams played their penultimate game of the season. 

The win improves the No. 7 ranked Spartans to 9-3-1, while the loss drops the Cascades to 3-8-2.

How it Happened:
TWU opened the scoring in the 21st minute, as Mya Bajpai flicked a ball into the box and Mansha Sidhu put it away into the short side corner. 

Sophie Crowther doubled the lead in the 66th minute, and Luciana Andrews added a third in stoppage time to round out the goals. 

Notable:
Cascades keeper Alana Madec had five saves in the game, while Keanna Bentley, Kyla Kerr, Jaidyn Jackson, and Kiana Langston all recorded shots on target for UFV in the match.

Next Up:
The Cascades close out their regular season on Saturday with a rematch against the Trinity Western Spartans. The game is set to kickoff at 6pm and can also be seen live on canadawest.tv.
