Cascades Storylines
- WBB: The Cascades look to advance to the Canada West semifinals on Saturday, as they await the winner of Friday's play-in round matchup between Calgary and Manitoba.
- MVB: The Cascades travel to Calgary for a best-of-three series against the University of Calgary Dinos in the Canada West Play-in round. The Cascades and Dinos met twice this year in Abbotsford, with the Cascades picking up the victory both times. The winner of this series will advance to play the University of Alberta the following week.
- MBB: The Cascades head to Victoria for their Canada West Play-in round game against the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns. UFV and Lethbridge did not meet during the regular season. The Cascades are 9-8 against the Pronghorns in their last 17 matchups dating back to 2009. The winner will move on to play Victoria the following night.
- WVB: The Cascades moved up to No. 3 in the final USPORTS national rankings of the season. They now head into their bye week as they await the winner of Saskatchewan and Trinity Western in a best-of-three series next week.
Cascades Players to watch:
WBB
- Always involved in the offence, Maddy Gobeil finished the regular season scoring 16.6 points per game, good for third in Canada West.
- Defensively, Julia Tuchscherer led Canada West in blocks during the regular season, notching 34, while also sitting third in the conference with a shooting percentage of 53.5%.
MBB
- Dario Lopez finished the season as the fifth leading scorer in Canada West, posting 18.4 points per game for UFV.
- Point guard Takeshi Croke led the league in both assists (108) and assists per game (5.4), as he proved to be among the best playmakers all season long.
MVB
- Strong serving, Nimo Benne finished the regular season with 0.54 aces per set, good for third in the conference.
- Outside hitter Jonas Van Huizen led the team with 228 kills, and 3.17 kills per set during the regular season.
