Cascades Storylines
  • MSOC: After setting a new program-high points total in 2024 and pushing the eventual national champions from UBC to extra time in the CW semifinal, the Cascades return for 2025 looking to make the next step forward. Guided by head coach Tom Lowndes and led offensively by the reigning CW player of the year in Mateo Brazinha, the team has its sights set high in an ever-competitive Pacific Division.
  • WSOC:  A young Cascades roster will look to improve on last year's 3-9-2 record as they continue to get younger. Led by head coach Ari Adams in her third season, the Cascades have just two fourth-year players. One of those two is Camryn Lyon, who will look to solidify the Cascades backline, while up front the attack will be led once again by third-year striker Kiana Langston, and second-year midfielder Emerson Toop.
Quotable
  • MSOC: "We are looking to build on the success of a CW Final Four appearance last season. Attacking power of CW Player of the Year Mateo Brazinha will be key in UFV having a strong season. Defensively, third year Adam Szymanski and rookie goalkeeper Matheus De Souza will be instrumental in our push to have a successful season." – Cascades MSOC head coach Tom Lowndes
  • WSOC: "We return key contributors as we continue to build for the 2025 season. With an organized defensive side of the ball and speed in the attack, UFV will continue to improve and compete within the Pacific." – Cascades WSOC head coach Ari Adams
Milestone watch
  • MSOC: Mateo Brazinha currently sits on 10 assists in his career, leaving him just one shy of the program's all-time record in Canada West play held by Sasa Plavsic.
  • MSOC: Kevin Mailand's four career game-winning goals in Canada West leaves him one away from tying James Najman and Connor MacMillan for the second most in program history.
  • WSOC: Striker, Kiana Langston is two goals away from 10 in her Canada West career. Langston currently sits in a tie for 12th in program history with eight regular season Canada West goals.
2024-25 records
  • MSOC: 8-5-3 – Won QF vs CGY, Lost SF to UBC
  • WSOC: 3-9-2 – 7th in Pacific Division
