Victoria, BC – A first half marker from

The win moves UFV one step closer to clinching a Canada West playoff spot, as they improve to 7-3-4 on the season with the win. UBCO meanwhile drops to 0-11 on the year
How it Happened:
The Cascades had a flurry of chances in the opening two minutes, launching three shots at the UBCO goal including two that just went wide of the net from
Marcus D'Andrea, but UFV was unable to break the deadlock early.
UFV continued to dominate in both possession and chances throughout the bulk of the opening half, but it would be the 38
th minute where they would finally find the breakthrough.
Ebi Igali streaked up the right side before finding Brazinha in the box, who smashed the opening goal into the top left corner on the Cascades 10
th shot on target.
Under a minute later, UFV thought they had doubled the lead when Brazinha's outside of the foot cross found
Dante Colebourne at point blank range in front of the net, but his shot rocketed just left of the frame.
UBCO found their first real chance of the game in first half stoppage time, but their first attempt at target from the head of Gavin La Montagne bounced wide of the goal.
The second half continued mostly uneventfully, with the most notable chance coming from UBCO's Colin Birtwistle. Birtwistle's attempt from outside the box was comfortably saved by UFV's De Souza.
Notable:
The Cascades out chanced UBCO 19-1 in the opening half, with shots in target being 10-0 during that period.
Brazinha's opening goal was his fifth of the season, and 32
nd of his Cascades career in Canada West.
