Storylines
Women's Volleyball
- With four matches left on the UFV Cascades (9-7) regular season schedule, the team is looking to solidify their playoff position. UFV has already mathematically clinched a playoff spot, but good results over the final four matches could see them jump as high as fifth or sixth and earn a bye into the quarterfinals.
- UFV currently sits one win back of the Saskatchewan Huskies for the sixth spot in the Canada West standings. The Cascades and Huskies split last weekend's games in Saskatoon.
- UBC comes into the game with a 13-3 record and has won their last four matches this season.
- The Cascades currently lead the league in both service aces (157) and aces per set (2.45).
Men's Volleyball
- The Cascades (0-16) get set for a stiff test from the UBC Thunderbirds (15-1) this weekend.
- Cascades rookie libero Yahia Elsayed currently sits third in Canada West with 2.15 digs per set.
- UBC has won their last nine matches coming into this game.
Men's Basketball
- The UFV Cascades (11-7) travel to the UBC Okanagan Heat (3-15) this week with an eye on solidifying their playoff position. The Cascades have already clinched a playoff spot, but will look to stay ahead of the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack who currently sit one game back.
- UFV is currently fifth in the league in points scored per game with 81.9, while only allowing 77.9. UBCO on the other hand is allowing the most points in the conference at 89.7 this season, while scoring just 70.2 points per game.
Women's Basketball
- The UFV Cascades (8-10) travel to visit the UBCO Heat (9-9) in a pair of games with big playoff implications. Two wins from UFV could see them jump as high as third in the Pacific division.
- UFV's Julia Tuchscherer is closing out a dominant regular season, as she sits fourth in Canada West with 16.3 points per game, fifth in the conference with 8.7 rebounds per game, and second in the conference with 45 blocked shots. She needs just five blocks to move into the top-5 in U SPORTS women's basketball history.
