Matthias Klim scored a career-high 33 points as the UFV Cascades came up with the 101-92 victory over the Brandon University Bobcats in a rematch of last season's Canada West playoffs on Friday night at the UFV Athletic Centre.Â
The win keeps the Cascades in control of the final Canada West playoff spot currently with a 5-10 record, while the Bobcats drop to 12-5 this season.Â
How it Happened
Matthias Klim got the Cascades rolling early, going six for six for 14 points in the opening quarter to give UFV a 29-16 lead.Â
A 16-2 run for the Cascades to start the second pushed the lead to 27, but the Bobcats found five triples in the final 2:37 of the half to make it just a 16-point game at the break.Â
the teams traded shots in the third, but the Cascades carried a 21-point margin into the final frame. Four more Brandon three-pointers in quick succession made it a nine-point scoreline with under two minutes to go, but some strong team defence and made free throws by
Takeshi Croke and
Dylan Kinley down the stretch sealed the victory for UFV.

Klim led all players with 33 points on 14 for 17 shooting from the field, while adding seven rebounds for UFV.
Dylan Kinley Chipped in 20 points and notched nine assists, while
Hans Befus had 18 points.
Dario Lopez picked up the double-double with 14 points, 10 boards, and six assists.Â
Sultan Haider Bhatti led Brandon with 24 points, and nine rebounds, and Khari Ojeda-Harvey chipped in 22 points and six assists.Â
