Abbotsford, BC – The UFV Cascades dropped a 4-0 decision to the Trinity Western Spartans on Hall of Fame night at Rotary Stadium in Abbotsford on Friday. 

The win moves the Spartans to 6-3-2, while the loss drops the Cascades to 2-7-2

How it happened:
After a slow start the Spartans opened the scoring in the 7th minute. TWU fourth-year midfielder Erin Stewart sent a corner kick into the centre of the Cascades box where Tilly James got on the ball to put TWU up 1-0.
 
Charity Field made it a two-goal lead in the 17th minute. Field took a pass in the centre of the box from James and quickly turned and found the upper part of the Fraser Valley net to put Trinity Western up 2-0.
 
James got her second of the night in extra time in the opening half. James headed a perfect cross from the left side of the field from second-year forward Lianna Holz to give TWU a 3-0 lead after the opening 45 minutes.
 
Stiel got the lone goal of the second half when she was able to convert a far post corner kick from Stewart. UFV's Addy Chen was able to stop her initial attempt, but the Siel converted the rebound to put TWU up 4-0 in the 77th minute.

Notable:
Friday was also the Cascades Hall of Fame induction night, as the UFV Cascades celebrated new inductees Jamie Vaughan, Bianca Wilkinson, and the 1993-94 women's soccer era at the game.

The Cascades finish off the weekend of play with a trip to Trinity Western on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 5pm in Langley.
