those opening round scores from Lazeo and Hamade lead the way for the UFV Cascades golf teams, as the men's squad sits in a tie for fifth at +1 and the women's team holds sole possession of fifth at +33 in their draw. Both teams remain in contention for a podium position with the final round starting on Tuesday morning.Â
The men's side sits 14 stokes back of the pack leading UBC team in the five-count-four competition. Lazeo's score of -4 was backed up by a one-over,73, from
Hayden Prive, while
Andrew Biggar and
Brett Bateman each finished the opening rounds at two-over par. Connely Parker rounded out the side on Monday with a seven-over par round of 79.Â
On the women's side,
Gabriella Gobbato carded a round of 87 (+15), while
Maya Gidda shot an 88 (+16), and
Alexandra Ellison finished the opening round with a score of 106 (+34) to go with Hamade's round of +2.Â
