The UFV Cascades men's and women's volleyball teams start off their 2026 at home with a Friday-Saturday set against the Brandon University Bobcats, while the men's and women's basketball teams travel to Victoria to tip-off their second semester of action this week.
All four games on Friday and Saturday will be available to watch live on Canada West TV, while UFV students and staff get free admission to each of the team's home games.

Storylines
Women's Volleyball
- The Cascades (5-5) host the Brandon Bobcats (1-9) as they get their second semester of action underway. The Cascades currently sit 7th in Canada West, with the top 10 teams in the conference earning a playoff berth. UFV will look to rely on a strong serving game as the team leads the conferences in service aces (100) and aces per set (2.63).
Men's Volleyball
- Still searching for their first win of the season, the Cascades (0-10) play host to Brandon (3-7) in a pair of must win matches for UFV's playoff hopes. The team currently sits four wins out of a playoff spot with two games in hand at the halfway mark of the season.
Men's Basketball
- The UFV Cascades (7-4) tip-off their 2026 with a tough test against the defending national champions and current conference leaders from Victoria (9-2). Both teams were hot going into the semester break, as UFV has won seven of their last eight games, while Victoria is 6-2 in that same stretch. The two teams have met once already this season with the Vikes coming away victorious 84-76.
Women's Basketball
- The UFV Cascades (4-7), visit the Victoria Vikes (6-5) in a pair of games that can have big playoff implications in the second half of the season. The Cascades currently sit sixth in the pacific division standings with nine games to go. The two teams have met once this season met in the opening weekend, with UFV coming out on top 65-62.
