MSOC: Matheus De Souza holds off the Dinos in a scoreless match

Abbotsford, BC: The UFV Cascades finished with a draw against Calgary Dinos in a tightly contested game. While both teams fought for possession and opportunities.

The tie brings UFV to 5-3-3, while Calgary is brought to 7-2-1 on the season.

How it happened:

The first half went by quickly as the UFV Cascades and the Calgary Dinos fought for possession of the ball, both pushing hard offensively trying to make a breakthrough.  Though as time went on neither were quite able to seize a moment that would favour themselves.

Coming back from the first half UFV kept possession of the ball, keeping it out of their side as things ramped up and each team became more desperate.

Cascade's defensive line was doing everything they could do to keep the ball out of their net, which became more obvious as Calgary's offensive line grew more and more irritated.

On a close call from a free kick Matheus De Souza narrowly saved the ball, as it had a clear unobstructed path, hitting his fingertips and going over the net keeping the score 0-0 and giving himself yet another clean scoresheet of the season.

Quotable:

"Shoutout to my backline, because they were amazing tonight. Bailed me out a couple times as well. I always say this they have my back and I have theirs, and I think we showed that out today." - Matheus De Souza
