Kamloops, BC: The UFV Cascades women's soccer team dropped a close match, with the difference being just a single goal for the TRU WolfPack on Saturday in Kamloops.
After the match the Cascades are at a 2-4-2, while the Wolfpack is 3-0-3 for the 2026 Canada West season.
How it happened :
A game that was slow to start saw TRU goalkeeper Floor Ursem first called into action in the 23rd minute when UFV's
Kyla Kerr let loose a long-rage effort that goalkeeper from the Netherlands had to dive to catch.
TRU was able to find their goal in the 39th minute, as Hannah Saxon fired a shot from outside the box that would find the top corner of the net past UFV's goalkeeper
Alana Madec.
Madec kept the Cascades in the match with a pair of great saves early in the second half. The keeper came up big to stop a TRU breakaway in the 55th minute before making a terrific diving stop off a WolfPack shot just minutes later.
Ursem came off her line to claim a dangerous cross from
Camryn Lyon in the 80th minute before securing the shutout and the victory with a stop on an effort from
Kiana Langston in the 90th minute.
