The UFV Cascades men's and women's soccer teams are at home for the first time this season, as they take on the UBC Thunderbirds and TRU WolfPack this week at Rotary Stadium.

Each game will be available to watch live on Canada West TV, while in-person admission is free for the games. Friday's games will also have a food truck on site for the Cascades home opener.

Storylines
Women's soccer

• The Cascades opened their 2026-27 season with pair of strong efforts. After falling to TWU 1-0 on a last gasp header, UFV bounced back to pick up a 2-0 win against the UNBC Timberwolves. Goals from Kiana Langston and Eesha Mudaliar, and a clean sheet from Alana Madec, propelled the Cascades to their first points of the season.
• Four Cascades newcomers earned their first minutes for UFV in the opening weekend.
• The Cascades are yet to receive a card through two games this season.
• The Cascades faced the Thunderbirds twice last season, losing 4-0 and 1-0 to the eventual national champions. Meanwhile, UFV split the season series with TRU, picking up a 1-0 win after a Kenzie Fitzgerald header forced a winning own goal.

 
Men's soccer

• After a tough opening week, the Cascades rebounded for a 4-0 win against Trinity Western, and a gutsy 1-1 draw against UNBC with nine men. A first clean sheet of the year for Matheus De Souza, and goals from Kyle Torresan, Marcus D'Andrea, and a pair from Mateo Brazinha gave them the win on Friday, while an Ebi Igali header earned them the draw on Sunday.
• The Cascades will be without both Brazinha and Igali to start the weekend against TRU, as both received red cards in Sunday's match with UNBC.
• The Cascades have already met both the Thunderbirds and WolfPack already this season, resulting in 2-0 and 1-0 losses respectively.
