The UFV Cascades announced the signing of four new recruits from Langley United soccer club on Friday.Â
McKenna Toop, Kyla Kerr, Jassica Landhre, and Sadie Welsh will join the Cascades squad for the 2025 Canada West season.Â
Â
UFV head coach
Ari Adams was excited to bring in four players who have experience playing together.
"All four recruits join us from Langley United Soccer Club. They have had a lot of success at the youth level, and I am excited to see them progress together."
Chilliwack's Toop is the younger sister of current UFV midfielder
Emerson Toop, and the midfielder will join her sister on the team next year.
"Mckenna Toop is a versatile midfielder who is strong on the ball and will bring energy to the middle of the field," noted Adams.Â
Kyla Kerr joins UFV from Port Coquitlam, and noted the program feels like a good fit.Â
"After meeting Coach Ari and the team, I knew that the school and soccer program aligned with my academic goals and desire to continue my soccer career competitively at the University level."
Abbotsford product Jassica Landhre decided to stay close to home and sign with UFV, and coach Adams noted that she will bring athleticism to the team.
"Jassica Landhre is a solid fullback who can match any attackers speed and physicality. She is not only solid defensively but can join in on the attack."
Finally, goalkeeper Sadie Welsh joins the Cascades from Maple Ridge, and coach Adams noted she will add depth for the team at the back.
"Sadie Welsh is a solid GK who will bring depth to the position. Her athleticism allows her to get across the net and make big saves."

The Cascades closed out their 2024 season last weekend with a 2-1 victory over the UNBC Timberwolves.Â
