Abbotsford, BC - The UFV Cascades women's soccer program kicks off their 2024 campaign this week against the UBC Okanagan Heat and TRU WolfPack. After a new look Cascades squad battled their way to a playoff spot last season, the team will look for a repeat in 2024 with some talented new faces in the lineup. The Cascades will rely on staying organized and disciplined defensively, while their speed and offensive power up front will look to do some damage in an always strong pacific division.Â
One of UFV's top offensive threats,
Kiana Langston, will look to build on a strong rookie season that earned her Cascades Female Rookie of the Year honours. The second-year forward scored in big moments last year, including an extra time tying goal in their playoff matchup with Victoria that forced the game to a shootout.Â
Amongst the cast of talented new faces in the UFV lineup this year are rookies
Emerson Toop and
Kenzie Fitzgerald, along with returnee
Jaya Bains. With a strong class of rookies, and post-secondary transfers, the Cascades will look to get off to an early strong start in Canada West play.Â
